Advances in the Technology for Controlled-Release Pesticide Formulations

چکیده
The choice of formulation is influenced by the following factors: the physical properties of the pesticide (melting point, solubility, and volatility), the chemical properties of the pesticide (hydrolytic stability, thermal stability, and irradiation stability), the mode of application of the formulation (soil, foliar), the crop to be treated and the agricultural practices, the biological properties of the pesticide (crop selectivity, transport through soil or grass cover, and LD50 for mammals and nonmammalian species), and economic considerations. This chapter covers methods of pesticide encapsulation and formulation, controlled-release techniques for pesticide application, and the current trends in the use of encapsulated natural products. Pesticides are conventionally applied to crops by periodic broadcasting or spraying. Very high, and possibly toxic, concentrations

متن کاملDesign and Comparative Evaluation of In-vitro Drug Release, Pharmacokinetics and Gamma Scintigraphic Analysis of Controlled Release Tablets Using Novel pH Sensitive Starch and Modified Starchacrylate Graft Copolymer Matrices
The present investigation deals with the development of controlled release tablets of salbutamol sulphate using graft copolymers (St-g-PMMA and Ast-g-PMMA) of starch and acetylated starch. Drug excipient compatibility was spectroscopically analyzed via FT-IR, which confirmed no interaction between drug and other excipients. Formulations were evaluated for physical characteristics like hardness,...

متن کاملHydrophilic Natural Polymers for Sustained-controlled Release of Calcium Hydroxide
Calcium Hydroxide (CH) is commonly employed as intracanal medicament in endodontics. In order to maximize its therapeutic effects, it is essential to develop new approaches for preparing the controlled drug release systems which, in turn, facilities the dissociation of CH into calcium and hydroxyl ions. This work studies the sustained-controlled release of calcium ions and the effect of pH chan...
